Terms of Service

By creating an account or using WriteID ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

WriteID is an academic integrity platform that integrates with Google Classroom. It tracks student writing activity in Google Docs via a browser extension and generates Proof of Authorship reports using our AI analysis.

The Service is intended solely for legitimate educational use by authorised educators and institutions.

You must sign in via Google OAuth to use WriteID. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and must not share credentials or create accounts on behalf of others without their permission.

WriteID collects writing activity data, including typed key values, keystroke timing, clipboard events, selected text, clicks, and focus time, from students working on tracked assignments.

Educators are responsible for obtaining all required institutional approvals and parental consents required by their jurisdiction before enabling tracking for students.

Student data is used solely to generate authorship reports and is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

You agree not to:

• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features
• Attempt to access data belonging to other accounts
• Use the Service in violation of applicable laws or regulations
• Reverse-engineer any part of the Service
• Present authorship reports as conclusive legal evidence without appropriate institutional review

Authorship reports are analytical tools to assist educator judgment — not definitive disciplinary evidence.

WriteID and its content are owned by the WriteID team. Student-authored content remains the property of the respective student or institution. WriteID claims no ownership over student work.

Certain features require credits consumed when generating reports. Credits are non-refundable once used. WriteID reserves the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated analysis is probabilistic and may contain errors. Educators should exercise professional judgment when acting on findings.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WriteID shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account from the profile settings page at any time.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
